315 Job Cuts in Waterford

Teva Pharmaceuticals in Waterford announced to their staff, on the 25th of February, that there would 50% of their 730 workforce would be made redundant. Teva, which is one of the worlds top 20 pharmaceutical companies, known for making inhalers and tablets, made an investment of €65 million into the Waterford plant only last year. This has come as a huge blow to the citizens of Waterford who have already seen massive amounts of job losses in previous years. The government has called on the IDA and Enterprise Ireland to give advice and help save other businesses that may also be heavily affected by these job losses.
