IEA member company EirGen Pharma this week announced a new partnership agreement with a South African company worth an estimated €3 million per year to the Waterford based firm.  The agreement with South African pharmaceuticals company, Equity Pharmaceuticals is to develop a nd commercially supply five oncology products from its Waterford facility.
EirGen Pharma was founded in 2005. It employs 45 people at its plant in Waterford, which specialises in the development, registration and manufacture of high potency solid dose products for global markets.

Speaking after the announcement in Johannesburg, Mr Carney from EirGen said: “We are delighted to have secured this agreement with Equity Pharmaceuticals.  EirGen and Equity plan to take a significant share of the current market of €15 million for these products.  We also see further potential in our partnership in the future as we are currently jointly evaluating four other oncology products for potential entry to South Africa and other markets in the region.”
