Genzyme Ireland, established in 2001 officially opened a €150 million expansion at their biotechnology campus in Waterford in October 2011. 
Genzyme is one of the world’s leading biotechnology companies and is dedicated to making a major positive impact on the lives of people with serious diseases.  Richard Bruton TD, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation, officially opened the new facility in Waterford and said  “Today’s opening is great news as Genzyme, a world-leading company in this sector, is deepening its commitment to Ireland and Waterford with this €150m investment."

This is an exciting era for Genzyme as they continue to grow by investing in new structures, increasing manufacturing and by being a stable employer in the Life Sciences sector in Ireland.
