The Irish Exporters Association(IEA) congratulates Silvia Valles Barrera and Hawthorn Logistics Ltd on being awarded the overall winner at the world final of the Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year 2011, which was held in Cairo at the FIATA Global conference.
According to FIATA, 2011 attracted the highest number of participants in the Award’s thirteen year history and it was commented that the calibre of the dissertations submitted this year was of an extremely high standard.
John Whelan , CEO of the IEA , at a recent IEA Customs and Trade Seminar stated;
‘’Exporters are facing serious challenges on the traditional European markets, with continued price pressures as markets stagnate. Expanding into the faster growing emerging markets offers some of the best opportunities, but these markets also present extensive transport and logistics challenges . Investing in the education of staff to the highest standard in transport and logistics will greatly assist Irish export industry in this endeavour .Hence , the IEA not alone congratulate Silvia Valles Barrera on achieving this award , but also Hawthorn Logistics on it’s foresight in investing in the education of its staff to the highest standard .’’
