Life Sciences Exports, 63% of total merchandise exports in 2010
| According to the latest figures released by the Irish Exporters
Association in their 2010 Year End Review, total exports reached the
highest level ever growing 18% in the 4th quarter of 2010, bringing
total exports for the year to €161 billion. Manufactured or merchanside exports grew by 6.3% in 2010. The Life Sciences sector (chemicals, pharmaceutical and medical devices) accounts now for 63% of total Irish merchandise exports and grew 12% in 2010. | |
Growth in the pharmaceutical industry has driven Ireland´s positive growth during the recession.
