IEA Life Sciences Ireland recently welcomed Univar as a new member company of the Irish Exporters Association.
Univar is one of the world’s leading distributors of industrial and specialty chemicals with an extensive network of over 300 distribution facilities in North America, Europe, the Asia-Pacific region and Latin America, and has additional sales offices in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Univar represents over 2,500 chemical producers and provides its customer base with a full portfolio of products and service offerings from distribution and logistics to value-added solutions such as laboratory services and private label packaging. The company’s scale, geographic reach, diversified distribution channels, industry expertise and comprehensive product portfolio enable it to develop strong, long-term relationships with its suppliers. In addition, Univar provides its customers, which are in a diverse set of end markets, with a one-stop-shop solution for their complete chemicals and ingredients needs.
Univar Ireland’s purpose-built facility based in Rathcoole, County Dublin, is designed to meet the high standards required by customers operating in the pharmaceutical, medical device, personal care and food environments. Products stored at the facility are classified and segregated to meet the rigorous safety standards required by these industries.
The company was recently successful in obtaining a GDP Passport from IEA Life Sciences Ireland, making it the first distributor operating in the life sciences sector in Ireland to obtain such certification. This will further enhance its attractiveness as a reputable partner with which to do business.
With a high proportion of products exported from Ireland, Univar is committed to working closely with the Irish Exporters Association to continue to grow its business in line with the requirements of the industries it works with. Univar looks forward to developing its relationship with the Irish Exporters Association and IEA Life Sciences Ireland. Peter Finnegan, IEA Life Sciences Ireland Manager, commented that Univar’s involvement with IEA Life Sciences Ireland would positively enhance the organisation’s membership base and added that Univar would be able to provide interesting insights to other members companies as a company that operates as a service provider to the life sciences sector.
