Life Sciences Ireland
Security of Supply and Patient Safety (SSPSGDP)
Aims and Objectives
IEA Life Sciences Ireland, in association with the Welsh enterprise development agency, Menter Môn, is currently developing a supply chain initiative for pharmaceutical and medical device companies entitled Security of Supply and Patient Safety through Good Distribution Practice in the Life Sciences Sector. This initiative aims to ensure integrity across the supply chain, with the overarching objective of improving patient safety.
This industry-led initiative will involve the development of a knowledge portal that will serve two functions:
Training: Employees will be upskilled through Continuing Professional Education, thereby ensuring that they are aware of best practice methodologies in the areas identified as being of most interest to industry. Training will be delivered in a blended learning format, composed of 65% online training and 35% classroom based training. The training will target different employee categories, which will result in upskilling across organisations.
Knowledge Portal: An industry communication platform, the knowledge portal will provide live information on compliance and regulatory matters, upcoming events of interest to the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors, discuss key industry issues and provide a forum for employees in both sectors to communicate with one another.
