Security of Supply and Patient Safety through Good Distribution Practice (SSPSGDP)
1. Project Background/Introduction
Life Sciences Ireland (LSI), a division of the Irish Exporters Association, was established in 2006, with the aim of driving export excellence in the life sciences industry.
The Irish Exporters Association has been successful in obtaining European funding to develop an initiative entitled ‘Security of Supply and Patient Safety through Good Distribution Practice in the Life Sciences Sector’. This will be delivered under the Ireland-Wales Programme 2007-2013 (INTERREG 4A).

2. Work Involved
This project will involve the creation of a knowledge portal, which it is hoped will become the portal of choice for life science companies in Ireland that wish to trade internationally. In addition to this a suite of five customised supply chain training modules will be developed.

The knowledge portal will serve the following functions:

There will be ten customised supply chain management training modules aimed at five different categories of employees from companies involved in the Life Sciences industry, i.e. pharmaceutical, medical device. Each course / module will consist of six learning or contact hours in total. The total number of contact/learning hours for the material developed by IEA Life Sciences Ireland will be thirty (30) hours. Up to 70% of the course content will be delivered in an online format while the remaining 30% will be delivered in a classroom setting. |

5. Deadline
The closing date for submission of completed tender proposals is 5:00pm on Monday, June 20, 2011.
